A few Chicago music news bites

  • Windy City-based duo Wild Belle--who were one of the few Chicago bands to play Lollapalooza earlier this month--have announced their first full North American tour. The jaunt will begin later this month and wrap up with a hometown show at Metro on October 26th. See more on their site.
  • Gapers Block has a writeup on a new documentary that's imminent on legendary Chicago record store and label Wax Trax.
  • Still need tickets to Riot Fest? Rdio is running a contest to give away VIP passes, and it seems pretty low effort. Check it out here.
  • The Danzig 25th Anniversary Chicago show originally set for August 16th at the Congress Theater has been cancelled due to "ongoing renovations." No need for anyone to be too bummed, though, because Danzig is now part of the Riot Fest lineup on Friday, September 13th. Go here for more details.
  • Chicago psych-pop band YAWN are working on a follow-up to their 2011 album Open Season, and are previewing it with a new single called "Summer Heat." Take a listen below.
