The shoegazy psych band is back. Dive into the layered and dynamic sound of the band. The show is opened up by garage-pop group Mines, possibly their last show (for a while at least) and garage rockers Energy Gown. Who if you miss, are also playing with…
Wednesday, August 22nd: Soft Jolts at Subterranean (8 PM, 21+, $8)
Come back for a second round of Energy Gown and get some Soft Jolts while you’re at it. The garage duo just released Nothing Rich, their debut LP, of which you can hear a few song on their bandcamp.
Thursday, August 23rd: Russian Circles at Lincoln Hall (9 PM, 18+, $15)
Post-rock juggernauts will fill your need for something a bit heavier this week. The instru-metal trio makes a lot of noise, but without sacrificing interesting song structures.
Friday, August 24th: Rabble Rabble at Coles (10 PM, 21+, FREE)
The all-energy psych-rock band is shooting a music video dedicated to the bathroom of the very bar they’re playing at. Come be a part of it.
Saturday, August 25th: 5 Year Anniversary Party at Burlington (2 PM, 21+, $7)
The Logan Square bar with an “ear for the weird” is throwing a hell of a party. The lineup features Cave, E+, Lasers and Fast and Shit, Bloodiest and more. Throw in a hosted bar, DJs and acoustic performances in the front room all day and you’ve got your whole Saturday figured out.
Sunday, August 26th: Rodeo at Empty Bottle (7 PM, 21+, $3)
The sludgy post-punk trio has been pretty quiet for the summer but they’re back for a cheap and early show.
Monday, August 27th: Coffin Ships at Dustbowl (9 PM, AA, $5)
After the mass-closings of DIY spots this summer, looks like we’ve got to take advantage of them while we can. This week looks to be pretty loud, so end it with some sweet sounds of the indie-pop duo.
