Spend Christmas with Scott Lucas and the Married Men

Last Saturday, Scott Lucas and the Married Men hit the Hideout stage with their first ever holiday-themed show, dubbed "The Hideout Holiday Music Hour." If you missed it or want to relive the fun, good news: you can head to scottlucasandthemarriedmen.com on December 25 to hear the show streaming all day long.

The sold out musical variety act, which is planned to continue as an annual event, featured original songs as well as Christmas classics. Joining the Local H frontman and his more recently-formed band of Married Men were special guests Elizabeth Elmore of Sarge and The Reputation, teen indie popsters Purple Apple (comprised of three 13-year-olds and their 20-something babysitter), an expanded string section, and an unauthorized Rowlf the Muppet (if you ask me, any Christmas show with an unauthorized Rowlf the Muppet is automatically awesome).

"At first we were only going to do a couple of Christmas songs, but we got carried away," Lucas said in a press release. "We wanted to fashion a show after olde tyme Christmas radio specials -- like 'A Prairie Home Companion,' -- but also with an almost Opry-type of vibe. And, The Hideout is perfect for that."

Check out an mp3 of one of the evening's performances:
